It's great to be back doing some portraits and this time I wanted a theme of a time traveller, for some composite work. Below are a few of my favourites (straight out of camera) and I will post the rest shortly after I have finished "playing" with them....
I love this time of year and particularly enjoy seeing all the new spring buds emerging. The hedgerows and trees were alive with birds and I stood for ages listening to this songthrush in full song, it was beautiful.
I have recently returned from a few days away in Bruges with a good friend and fellow photographer. We had a lot of laughs (and obviously beers, mussels and chips too !) and walked for miles and miles and miles. We had a great time and the highlight of the trip for me was to witness the swans as they were in their mating season, so were either fighting, or courting. It was like watching synchronised swimmers and so utterly beautiful to watch; I felt very privileged and we returned there a number of times just to watch them.
I have a number of images to go through and will post them soon, but for now below is my favourite image of the reflections at dawn.
I was delighted to be awarded first place, from the judge at my local camera club, with this image from Sri Lanka.
It was taken in the Hatton area where the tea plantations are, which is such a beautiful peaceful place and so calm and serene.
It was a night for the ladies at my local camera clubs' annual "panel" competition, as all the top 3 places were awarded to females. I was very pleased to be awarded 3rd place :)
Just a small "teaser" following my return from Sri Lanka.
It was my first visit there and definitely a place that I would like to return to....
The stilts in the image used to be used by the local fishermen, but sadly they are no longer used for fishing.
Unfortunately I was too late to formally enter this image to my camera club competition, but the judge was very complimentary and said she could see it hanging on many living room walls....
Perhaps it should be the next image displayed and for sale at the Dog House in Sandgate ?
I am very lucky to live right by the coast and witness the ever changing sea and skies; blink and you could miss something beautiful.....which can disappear as quickly as it appeared !
Had a beautiful sunset walk on the sands at Folkestone and loved watching and being part of everything going on around me; especially the dogs chasing each other....they had so much energy and fun !
Quite different for me, but I have to confess to getting quite addicted to these "sparkle" images....
