Hi, I'm Corrine, I live near the Kent coast and am a photographer who specialises in fine art coastal landscape photography.
From a very young age, I always had a keen interest in photography and had a little instamatic camera, taking pictures constantly and having to process the film as soon as it was finished; always paying extra for same day processing!
My passion for photography has remained and in my "journey", I have met many wonderful people and also made some good friends. Photography has helped me to slow down.....to look and see things and really take the time to value them and appreciate the wonder of nature. I particularly enjoy the peace and solitude that comes with those moments.
Whilst I enjoy many types of photography, I am naturally drawn to coastal photography.
As a child, nearly every family holiday was spent visiting my grandparents who lived by the coast in south Wales. I have very fond memories of these times, especially the long walks along the beach every night and it instilled a fondness of the sea within me from a very young age. I "lived my dream," living by the coast in Kent, where I got to to walk on the beach on sunny (and cold and windy !) days and see the ever changing colours and lights on the seascape, together with beautiful sunrise and sunsets. If you are lucky enough to live by the sea too, you will understand when I say that many hours can pass by just watching the sea; it is extremely relaxing and calming.
I am particularly drawn to the "banding" of colours on the seascape and my coastal photography has developed to reflect a more abstract and minimalist style to capture the mood and colours that I feel and see. The simplicity and minimalist style and colour palette of my images have been described as having an ethereal quality, inviting the viewer to seek refuge in their calmness and tranquility and encourage a moment of calm and mindfulness.
My other love is taking women portraits. I was recently asked what it is about taking women’s portraits that I like and the only way I could put it into words was that it gave me a "warm fuzzy feeling".
I love seeing their reactions when they see their final images....
It's a moment that I have captured and which can be treasured forever
I love it when they love their pictures.......that's when I get that warm fuzzy feeling :)
I have a wonderful husband and two amazing children, who are a constant source of love and support. We have fun and laugh a lot; I am very lucky.
Thank you for visiting my site; if you are interested in purchasing an image, or just want to get in touch about what I do, I would love to hear from you.
