I was trying to decide wether to buy a large hydrangea flowerhead at the market stall today for £5, when the guy offered me all 5 stems for £3. Even though they were a bit tired I was thrilled with my bargain !

Week 10 Be Still - Lighting around the clock

I'm still trying to catch up with theses classes having been away on holiday. This weeks class was to use a very simple spoon and take numerous shots with the sun in varying positions. I have been struggling to do this during the day, however I managed to use some studio lights tonight to do the same exercise.Not quite the same I know, but I really loved the resulting shadows and learnt a lot in the process.

This spoon was used by my Mother in law, Doris to make her gravy every Sunday; you can see how worn it is at the end where she used it against the roasting tin.

My sister in law has kept the spoon, as both she & my husband couldn't bear to part with it, as it evokes such happy & fond memories.

Excited today, as I got to play with some new lighting equipment. I really like low key portrait work and I managed to try out a few things. I'm pleased with the results, but lots more practice and learning required......

This has been a really good thing to do, as it made me realise how much I have learned and how much
